Ken Hiatt started his career with CN Rail in January 1975, in The Pas, Manitoba. That same year he became a machinist trainee, and in 1978 a journeyperson. In January 1992, Ken was laid off from CN Rail. He decided, along with his family, to stay with CN and transfer down to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Over the past 41 years with CN Rail, Ken has held various union positions, health and safety, shop steward, motive power area representative, location chairperson, Manitoba skilled trades executive, Local 100 executive council/chairperson, Local 100 vice-president Prairie region, and currently Local 100 president.
Ken has been married to his wonderful wife Patsy for 35 years, and has 3 children, Kristen, Joel and Matt, plus two wonderful grandchildren, Lauklyn and Ridley.
