Political Action & Mobilization

Duration:
5 Days

From our workplaces and communities, to the provinces and our country, every day decisions are being made by all levels of government that may have a positive, or negative, impact on our lives.  Issues such as pensions, climate change, Employment Insurance, health and safety, taxes, human rights, child care, trade and workplace rights, are but a few of the issues that decision makers deal with.

This course will touch on the issues that are timely and relevant.  This will be done through a series of guest speakers and discussion papers specifically designed to give us an understanding of how governments work and how we can use our influence as a movement and/or individually to affect positive change for all workers.  You will also learn campaign and lobby techniques that will assist you and your local to be influential when dealing with politicians.
