Unifor Local 114 members working at Cascade Aerospace in Abbotsford, British Columbia ratified a new three-year collective agreement on June 21.

“Unifor members are pivotal to Canada’s aerospace sector,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor National President. “Our members make high-quality products that attract investment that drives job creation in communities large and small.”

Among other gains, the new contract includes a cost of living increase to wages, improved health and safety language, better scheduling provisions, and a boost to per diems for work outside Canada.

“Our bargaining committee did a great job and they should be proud,” said Unifor Local 114 Plant Chair Steve Frank. “This contract is an important step forward and it builds off of our hard work and solidarity.”

Unifor members at Cascade went on strike in 2014 for 11 weeks.
