In January 2016 the Regina Leader Post will move its printing operations to Saskatoon, costing 16 Unifor members their jobs.
“The closure was unexpected, and we’re all in a little bit of shock,” said Ray Lolacher, President of Unifor Local 75G.
Postmedia owns both the Regina Leader Post and the Saskatoon Star Phoenix. The Star Phoenix facility will now print the dailies for both cities.
“We’re very disappointed and we are going to work hard to ensure these members’ needs are taken care of,” said Joie Warnock, Unifor’s Western Director.
