Unifor offers congratulations and thanks to progressive candidates for their vision and commitment to building strong, prosperous communities.
“Democracy and community thrive when progressive community members run for political office so that they can contribute to the public good,” said Joie Warnock, Unifor’s Western Director.
Unifor Local 191 member Cindy Turner was elected this evening as the School Trustee for Louis Riel Ward 1 in Winnipeg.
“We’re very proud of Cindy, and we’re confident she will be an excellent school trustee,” said Warnock.
Unifor was founded Labour Day weekend 2013 when the Canadian Auto Workers and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers unions merged. With more than 305,000 members, Unifor is Canada’s largest union in the private sector.
