MONCTON –Unifor pledges to fight vigorously to ensure that the next government of New Brunswick fulfills a mandate set by working people.
“Unifor calls upon third-parties to support the agenda of working people should the Liberals move to form government. Our union will hold every single MLA’s feet to the fire on the issues that matter to workers across the province, from advancing women’s equality to growing good jobs,” said Lana Payne, Unifor Atlantic Regional Director. “The platform put forward by the Conservatives would be disastrous for working people if implemented.”
Unifor is the largest private sector union in New Brunswick and engaged in a thorough member-to-member campaign throughout the election. The union’s campaign saw member organizers speaking directly with union members about election issues and the importance of voting.
“Our union is proud to engage in electoral politics with the goal of improving conditions for all workers. This election shows just how important every single conversation and vote can be,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor National President. “Unifor activists are second-to-none and will continue to work to defend the rights of all workers in this province.”
“The people of our province are staring down difficult issues, but our union will remain active in communities across the province, to show all New Brunswickers that a better future is possible. Unifor is organized, and we’re not afraid of a fight,” said Ian Hutchison, Unifor Atlantic Regional Chairperson.
