Dear Brothers:

On behalf of 315,000 Unifor members across Canada, we want to express our deep solidarity with your struggle to negotiate a good contract with your employer, NPL Construction.

We know how difficult the current times are, and how challenging the decision to go on strike must have been over the summer. It is never easy to walk a picket line, and workers do it at great cost to themselves and their families, especially during a pandemic. We know that the goal of achieving fairness and justice is worth that cost.

As a union, we firmly believe that safe and good working conditions are key to providing good public services and protecting public safety. Your struggle to keep Oregon communities safe while also earning fair wages for yourselves and your families is admirable.

We stand with you against your greedy employer, and support your call for justice and a fair contract for your members. We understand that NPL Construction has some operations and clients in Canada, and will be connecting with your national leadership to offer any assistance we can north of the border.

We believe that when we fight, we win. When we are on picket lines from Newfoundland to Oregon, when we strike one day longer, we are one day stronger.

Keep up the good fight and count on our support in your struggle.

In solidarity,
