Unifor Local 414 members,
As you know, we are in collective agreement negotiations with No Frills. We have set a strike deadline of 12:01 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023.
We heard from you loud and clear that you are looking for fair pay, better access to health and sick leave benefits, stable work hours, and more full-time jobs.
If we are unable to reach a satisfactory agreement that address our key priorities at the bargaining table by our strike deadline, we will be on strike.
You deserve wages and benefits that recognize your important contributions to No Frill’s success. Loblaw reported $621 million in profit this past quarter. They can afford to provide good jobs with decent wages. Workers are rightfully demanding their fair share of historic profits. We’re united in our demand for our fair share of Loblaw’s record profits, especially now during an affordability crisis.
What to do in the event of a strike:
- Report to your regularly scheduled work shift to report for picket duty at your store
During picket duty, you will be joining your colleagues in protest outside your No Frills store in support of our demands at the bargaining table. At the picket line, find the picket captain (they will be clearly identifiable) to report for your picket duty. You must report for picket duty to receive strike assistance. Please arrive before your scheduled start time and dress appropriately for the weather conditions. - Stay up to date on the status of negotiations by visiting www.unifor.org/414updates.
More information will be shared as it becomes available. Please know that your bargaining committee continues to work around the clock to achieve a fair collective agreement.
