WINDSOR, ON, Oct. 13, 2016 /CNW/ - Unifor support workers at the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board voted overwhelmingly to support a strike, putting 370 workers in a legal strike position as of 12:01 a.m. Monday, October 17.
Our members at FCA will have the opportunity to vote on the tentative agreement this Sunday, October, 16, at their local membership meeting. If members support the recommendation and approve the new four-year Collective Agreement, the union will shift focus and immediately resume negotiations with Ford. The exact timeline is to be determined; however, if ratification occurs, negotiations with Ford will resume sometime during the week of October 17.

TORONTO, Oct. 6, 2016 /CNW/ - As the strike deadline between Unifor and Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) approaches, the union schedules briefings on negotiations while it continues to push for the pattern Agreement established with GM.
The Master Bargaining Committee continues to meet and negotiate with FCA in the hopes of reaching a fair tentative agreement prior to the strike deadline. In addition to the Master Bargaining Committee table there are also several sub-committee tables that remain open. Our objective is to secure the pattern Agreement that was established with GM and our top priority in negotiations remains investment for future jobs. Talks are scheduled to continue around the clock and will take place on the holiday Monday.
The current contract between Unifor and FAC was extended until the deadline set for negotiations. The extension expires on midnight of Monday, Oct. 10 at 11:59 p.m. This means that if there is no tentative agreement reached by the deadline, our members working at FCA facilities are in a legal strike position as of Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 12:01 a.m.
